Ontario weed control regulations

Ontario's Pesticides Act restricts most cosmetic pesticide use for lawn care. Licensed lawn care companies can apply restricted pesticides under a Landscape Exterminator licence. Homeowners can use non-restricted herbicides (iron-based, clove oil, corn gluten) without a licence. Many Ontario municipalities have additional by-laws — confirm local rules before applying any product.
